Are you a member of any trade associations?
Yes, we are members of the "British Inflatable Hirers Alliance" (See logo above!)
Do you carry Public Liability Insurance?
Yes, we have cover up to £1
million.
Who
and what does your insurance cover
Our insurance covers us in the event of an accident or injury being
caused by a failure in our equipment or the fact that the equipment may
have been set up incorrectly. It does not cover the hirer so it is
essential that you treat safety matters seriously. If you follow the
guidelines set out in our "Conditions Of Hire" then you should
be fine, a copy will be printed on the back of your invoice. You may well
find that you are covered by your home insurance policy anyway. Please
note that our insurance cover is the normal within our industry, if you
have spoken to another bouncy castle provider who says that their cover is
different then they almost certainly do not understand their policy
properly.
What do I need to hire a bouncy
castle?
1. A patch of level grass large enough to site it
2. A 240v power supply within 50m of your patch of grass
3. The booking fee!
Which castles will fit in my garden?
This is not a simple question to answer! We need to look at your garden as
a main grassy area which is surrounded by obstacles. The obstacles cannot
be too close to the castle without causing damage to it and danger to the
children, a low obstacle such as a raised manhole cover can be closer to
the castle than a tall one such as a garden shed because there is
relatively little movement at the bottom. Our range of bouncy castles is
listed in detail here along with
accurate sizes, based on these sizes the following rules are a good guide.
Patch of grass - A grass border of at least 300mm wide should be
visible all round the castle.
Step - No obstacle should be any closer than 1.2m away, this allows
space for the crash-mat to be placed in front of the castle.
Back & sides - No obstacle taller than 500mm should be any
closer than 300 mm away, no obstacle taller than 1000mm should be any
closer than 600 mm away, no obstacle taller than 1500mm should be any
closer than 900 mm away, no obstacle taller than 2000mm should be any
closer than 1200 mm away and no obstacle as tall as the castle should be
any closer than 1500 mm away.
Blower unit - We can site the blower on either side of the castle,
all it needs is free airflow into it.
What if I don't have a power supply
close enough?
For an additional charge we can provide a petrol generator
If I hire a generator what happens
about petrol?
Included within the hire charge of the generator is enough petrol to keep
you going for around 8 hours, if you need more than this then you can add
normal unleaded petrol of your own, the generator has a four stroke engine
so please do not add two stroke oil to the petrol!
Do you supply crash-mats
Yes, every castle we supply will have a crash mat in front of the step,
sumo suits come complete with a sumo mat.
Are your castles suitable for use by
adults?
Generally our bouncy castles are for children only, however some may be used by
teenagers or adults provided that a "Teenager" or "Adult" hire charge is paid. Price
list
How do you define a
"Teenager"
Anyone who is aged between 13 and 16.
How do you define an
"Adult"
Anyone who is 17 or older.
Why does it cost more if teens or adults want
to bounce?
We have been advised by our bouncy castle manufacturer that adult use will
cause hugely accelerated wear and tear on the bouncy castles to the point
that they will not be able to guarantee it. This obviously means that we
will have to replace the bouncy castle more frequently if adults bounce
hence the additional charge.
How can I book a bouncy castle or
sumo suits?
You can either telephone us or use our enquiry
form
How can I pay?
Payment is collected upon delivery of the bouncy castle, it can be either
cash or cheque if accompanied by a valid cheque guarantee card.
Unfortunately at the moment we are unable to accept credit or debit cards.
Cheques should be made payable to "Bouncers Castle Hire"
Do I need to pay a booking deposit?
No, we do not ask for deposits, the payment is made in full on the day.
Is there a cancellation charge?
No, you can cancel bookings at any time before the day of hire without
penalty. This can be for any reason including a bad weather forecast! We
will contact you by telephone on the day before the hire to confirm your
booking.
What about last minute bookings?
Some other bouncy castle hire companies will charge more if you do not
book well in advance, we see this practice as unethical and will not take
part in it. Prices will be as shown on this website whether you book a
month or an hour before your hire is due to start. (Obviously the earlier
you book the greater your choice of castles and set-up / collection times)
Do your bouncy castles have rain
covers?
We provide a free rain cover for all bouncy
castles except the flat topped 15x15, this is because our manufacturers have advised
us that the span is too great and the cover would simply sag too low in
the middle.
I only want the castle for half a
day, why should I pay for the whole day?
The cost to us in time, effort and travel is exactly the same whether you
have the castle for half or all of the day, we simply give you the choice
of having it collected earlier if you choose because it can be a tie for
you having the castle in your garden if you want to go out.
Can I keep the castle overnight?
Unfortunately not. The risk of vandalism or theft is just too high, doing
so would also leave us with no time for if it needed cleaning which would
in turn mean that we would be unable to hire it out the following day. On
request we will normally be able to agree a later collection time.
If you book sumo suits then it is normally not a problem for you to keep
them overnight because they can (and must!) be taken indoors when you go
to bed. Collection is made the following morning, usually between 9 and
10am but this is discussed and agreed for each hire.
How can I be sure that you won't let
me down?
We are a family business and have a 9 year old son of our own, we can
imagine his disappointment if his party was ruined and will go to any
lengths to make certain that your child's bouncy castle arrives as and
when promised. We have been established since 2003 and we have a near perfect record.
What happens if there is a problem
with the bouncy castle?
This is very unlikely, our oldest equipment was brand new for the 2003
season with a life expectancy of up to ten years, however there are
instructions within the Conditions
Of Hire for dealing with minor problems. If you are unable to resolve
the problem yourself then contact us and we will be with you as soon as
possible.
What happens if the weather turns
bad?
If it is just a little rain then check that the RCD circuit breaker is
being used, if possible give the blower a little shelter (without covering
it!) and expect the bouncy castle to get very slippery!
If it is a storm or high winds then get everybody off the bouncy castle
immediately and deflate it by switching the power off. Bouncy castles have
very high wind resistance and very little weight to counter, if it managed
to break free of it's ground stakes the castle could literally blow over.
If you have sumo suits then we would suggest that you don't leave them out
in the rain because they will get heavy, wet and uncomfortable for you to
use once the rain has stopped!
What time do you deliver and collect
the castles?
We try to be as flexible as we can and work around you as much as we can,
we have in the past delivered as early as 8:30am and collected as late as
11:00pm but we do need to work around times which may already have been
promised to other customers and sensible bedtimes for our son
if there is school the next day! Why
is my hire period limited to six hours?
Because we can only be in one place at a time and driving time needs to be
allowed for as well as set-up time, if customer No 1 was to book us from
10am-7pm then customer No 2 could only be offered 11am-6pm and so on until
customer No 5 could only be offered 2pm-3pm. This would obviously be
unfair and unacceptable for customer No 5 so we decided to limit the hire
period to six hours, this way customer No 1 can have 10am-4pm, customer No
2 can have 11am-5pm and so on until customer No 5 has 2pm-8pm. Obviously
we understand that this method will not always work for you so we will
continue to be as flexible as we can. If in doubt call us and tell us what
you want, we will normally be able to fit you in one way or another! Sumo
suits can normally be left with you for longer than castles because you
can take them indoors overnight and we can collect them the following
morning if required, they are also much quicker for us to set up and pack
away so they do not cause as much pressure on our time as the castles do. What
are Sumo suits all about?
Sumo suits probably represent the most fun you could possibly have at an
adult party. It is normal for the wrestlers to be stranded lying on the
mat whilst the spectators do their best to help them up whilst doubled
over with laughter and through the tears which are streaming down their
faces! It really is just as much fun watching your friends wrestle as it
is wrestling yourself. What do I get with a sumo
hire?
Two sumo suits, two protective helmets, two neck braces, a sumo mat, a
sheet which explains the rules of sumo wrestling & how to organise a
contest. Doesn't it take ages to get the suits on and
off?
Some sumo suits are inflatable and need to be pumped up when you put them
on then deflated so that you can get out of them, ours are not like that
at all, they are of the latest design which are foam filled so that they
can be quickly and easily put on and taken off. Can the bouncy castle be
used indoors ie a large hall. regarding deliveries how far are you able to
travel?
It is normal practice to hire indoor castles, especially during the
winter! Basically as long as it will fit in there you have no problem,
please see our venues section for specific
information on a few local halls. Regarding the second part of your
question, our normal operating area is within a ten mile radius of
Worcester, we can and do go further afield on occasion but we obviously
have to make additional charges to cover the travel costs and extra time
taken, local deliveries are free and others are priced by postcode, full
information on the free delivery area and charges where applicable is
shown at the bottom of the prices page |
